I've heard we need a Digimon thread, and I figure we can also talk about vpets in general too!

I'll start by posting my collection of Digimon Vpets.

Most of those are various new versions (20th anniversary, etc.) The top dark blue one next to the box is an original one from the 90s (not with original keychain though). It's the same color I had when I was a kid when it first came out and I became obsessed.

The bottom left is my most recent acquisition, the 25th anniversary color version! This one is super neat. I'll admit, some of the charm of the old LCD screen is lost with a full color screen, but it's so neat to see these little guys in full color. My avatar is the Tyrannomon sprite from the color version and I love it.

This one I swapped out the background image for a snippet of some album art from my favorite band. There's also a sticker on the back from the same album art. One of the other ones has a glow in the dark background that I swapped in which is fun!

I even have a couple of the Digimon vital bracelets. These things are super neat. I take a lot of walks and go hiking a lot so these are great to work a fun little vpet game into adventure or exercise.

Man, very jealous of the V-Pets. I had the simpler Digivice games as a kid but always longed for a V-Pet. If I wanted to get one now do you have any recommendations for where to start?

Also did you ever play Digimon World on the PS1? It's one of my favorite games.

I thought you'd still be able to find a 20th anniversary version fairly easily, but searches are turning up mixed results.

But I found a few ebay listings for the original 1997 version for not crazy expensive (around $40). Neat! That's my favorite version, honestly.

I love Digimon World! I've never beat it though, I couldn't ever get very far without a guide haha. I never played any of the other entries in that series because they got rid of the vpet mechanics. I like that the first one is an RPG, but you still have to raise the little guy.
