hello i've finally started playing Deus Ex after about half a year of not getting far enough in the first level to be invested.
i am now on the second part of the second mission, with, uh, (checks play time) five hours under my belt. this game rocks
i'm going to use this thread somewhat as a log and somewhat as just sending awesome screenshots

just finished the first NYC mission. i could not for the life of me find the "water tunnels" that i found out about from some random guy (are they distinct from the sewers? i cleared those up and got everything in there), so i just went and killed everybody until they died. when i came back the munitions guy gave me more picks and more multitools to tell me to shoot less, and that was very useful because i was constantly running out of MTs!
oh my god man what the hell is going on
so i refused to kill Lebedev, though i carried his dead body all the way through to my office at UNATCO as a consolation prize. the next mission was pretty simple at first, but then i died in Paul's room and got sent to the MJ12 facility???? and there's a whole level here??? i wonder how different the game would go if i had successfully gone to Hong Kong or if i killed Lebedev myself!!
i do love how immersive this sim is. of course everyone already knows everybody else and has deep connections and knowledge and rivalries about them. of course stuff happens on its own if you let it. this game rocks
