yesterday was bright blue skies and sunny, nearly 80 degrees. today i woke up to a cool 52. the city is insulted by thick gray butts, refreshed by a light rain. anyone who knows me on IRC knows i am a rain >>>>> sun person and that i am generally not a fan of summer for that reason (though i'm trying to embrace it more this year)
anyway since the weather is so lovely i decided to walk to the cafe by my house for an americano so i could more expansively enjoy the rain. i arrived there to find it empty except for the barista and how people were likely staying inside to avoid the rain, especially after a string of sunny days here. i amused myself realizing my instinct was the opposite: rain = go outside and enjoy.
tl;dr i'm not like other girls *hairflip*

entirely offtopic but i love your tyranomon avatar! It has also been surprisingly rainy and cold where I live. It's been strange, I've been gearing up for summer and it feels like a cozy autumn day.
Thanks!! He's my favorite Digimon. :3

Anyway, so this thread doesn't turn into a Digimon thread instead of rain...
What are your favorite rainy day activities?
I love when I wake up on a day off and it's raining and I get to just stay in my PJs for a while and drink coffee and read books before I get the day started.

probably for the best, but now we need a Digimon thread!
book + coffee + rain is indeed good for the soul. i also love taking walks in the rain, though of course there are practical limits to that. where i live (Seattle, WA) we mostly get a nice gentle sprinkle so a good rain shell is more than adequate protection for a walk.
i love rainy season here but i especially love when it stretches into spring, when the trees are bright green against a dark gray sky.
how do you like your coffee? my quad americano this morning had me vibrating haha

Rain is the sort of thing I can enjoy watching, but generally don't like to be in. :p
I think part of it is that childhood instinct of "yay, rain! Perfect excuse to be inside playing video games and surfing the internet!" that never really went away. :p

For me I love raining either when it's a sort of light, misting rain, or when it's a bit of a downpour but you're already soaked, it's warm out and you just stop caring. It's really nice to be out in the woods while it's raining or just after it stops. The smell especially is unparalled. Listening to the sound of rain droplets and/or watching it roll down windows is also really nice.
