this is very cool! how did you get started with plastic arts? and how long did the work you posted take you? it looks really neat!

my boyfriend's mom does ceramics (mostly tableware and vases etc.) and it seems kinda intimidating to get into.
we once made a spoon rest on one of those rotating pottery wheels with her help and even that was really hard :D

i like plastic arts i think. i was in the glyptothek munich last sunday again (collection of greek and roman sculptures). i think it is often more exciting looking at 3d art you can walk around etc. than looking at "flatware". i like looking at humanoid sculptures. i would like to create little weird humanoid monsters or something but no idea how.

Not quite a sculpture, but I've done a little bit of glassblowing before and I'm interested in it. I don't have any photos on hand right now, but I made a glass and a plate. It's quite interesting how many different methods there are, from actually rolling and shaping the molten piece of glass to just putting glass over a plate/mold and just cooking it.

last summer my wife and i visited amsterdam and paris, and i was fascinated by the sculptures i saw, especially at the d'orsay. once we got back i bought some air-dry clay and started messing around with it just to get the feel of it. this january i finally found a tutor and started working in his studio.

the bust in the OP took ~45 hours spread over 3 months to finish.

yes, this is my first ever sculpture but my tutor guided me throughout the process and occasionally intervened directly to handle certain parts.
