I have taken too many pictures when traveling over the years but this has stood as one of my highest favorites since i took it, for a couple reasons:

1) There's numerous examples of more dramatic and impressive mountains/rock formations but this captures the beauty of what a valley can be too. And it is such a pristine valley, totally uninterrupted and sweeping into a basin-like shape.

2) It's a lovely representation of the landscapes across the entire Great Basin. This is textbook Nevada, a perfect example of a region that is both very flat and very mountainous at the same time. I love how this one photo can represent the character of such a large region.

My photo was accepted to that group show! So if you find yourself on the N Judah towards Ocean Beach in San Francisco, consider staying on til 45th Ave and checking it out at Woods Outbound next month.

Also enjoy this cone.

Photography's so much fun! Here's one of my favorite photos:

At least for me, editing the raw is half the fun of photography (that photo has sizable edits). I've found darktable to be nice - which one do you all use?

I go back and forth. Sometimes I find it very enjoyable, and other times when I'm trying to get a specific vision and am struggling to get there, I find it super frustrating. I'm using Lightroom, which I do not love, and I super don't love giving Adobe money, but I've been unable to figure out Capture One and bounced right off of Darktable. Maybe one day I will force myself to figure it out!

Unrelated, I'm pretty bummed, my beloved Nikon F3 has recently died. The mechanical functionality seems good, so something electronic goin on. Hoping to take it to a local shop and get good news next week, but worst case I contacted a repair shop on the other side of the state that says I can maybe possibly get in in 2-3 months :frown:

Here's a photo I took in Antigua on my Minox 35 GT. Kodak Gold 200 I think?

I just picked up a Rolleiflex 2.8E and am excited to get back into medium format.

me and my gf were at the Maeslantkering, a storm surge barrier west of Rotterdam. it is so incomprehensibly enormous. every pipe it's made of is two metres in diameter. we walked right under it and felt so insignificant under colossal architecture
