i have decided to restart on the messenger bag and work from an actual pattern this time that should reduce the amount of sewing involved, plus it does something much less complicated to affix the strap onto since it forms up the side walls too so it shouldnt just tug awkwardly and risk severing right off of the main bag. i love working from old ratty pdfs from yesteryear. the base is a bit plain but one can always add frills now that ive learned how to properly form ruffles from another tutorial. i much prefer pdf tutorials as compared to video ones, but alas, the latter seem to be much more popular with more modern patterns
