hockey, eh
my kid also went to a hockey game today, the Baton Rouge Zydeco vs. [UNKNOWN TEAM]. they lost 6-2 lol

there’s always the chance they bring back the cup, i say, trying to comfort myself and realizing there’s probably a better overall chance the avs literally become the nordiques for real

the phrase "Tonight, Canucks vs Canadiens" is stuck in my head too and i know it makes sense but also that's such a funny phrase because those are synonyms

also yes, face shields would likely be great for not taking a puck to the teeth but honestly i have to assume it would be like when they tried to introduce helmets, i.e you’ll have one guy join just before the cutoff, grandfathered in, and he’ll play until 2050 as maskless randy or some shit

ogh did you see the one video where the guy gets his helmet bumped off of him just as a puck comes for where his eyes would be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMR-C9X3VCoalso yes, face shields would likely be great for not taking a puck to the teeth but honestly i have to assume it would be like when they tried to introduce helmets, i.e you’ll have one guy join just before the cutoff, grandfathered in, and he’ll play until 2050 as maskless randy or some shit

woof, i hadn’t seen that. what a miracle it missed him. i did once see a game (habs v rangers this year) where a habs player accidentally jettisoned a puck into the face of a linesman though. looked so unbelievably brutal - he took it like a champ though, albeit he definitely left after that probably to see if he still had his teeth.ogh did you see the one video where the guy gets his helmet bumped off of him just as a puck comes for where his eyes would be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMR-C9X3VCoalso yes, face shields would likely be great for not taking a puck to the teeth but honestly i have to assume it would be like when they tried to introduce helmets, i.e you’ll have one guy join just before the cutoff, grandfathered in, and he’ll play until 2050 as maskless randy or some shit

I mean there was a dude who got a stick to the mouth during the mens olympic gold game! Brutal stuff. I imagine they could get kinda steamed up too which would be pretty annoying. I would root for maskless randy.also yes, face shields would likely be great for not taking a puck to the teeth but honestly i have to assume it would be like when they tried to introduce helmets, i.e you’ll have one guy join just before the cutoff, grandfathered in, and he’ll play until 2050 as maskless randy or some shit

honestly so would I depending on which team drafted him. who knows, maskless randy might have already be playing.I mean there was a dude who got a stick to the mouth during the mens olympic gold game! i would assume steaming up would be an objection, along with every player who believes that losing a few teeth is the price of glory (or mediocrity) if you're playing in the NHL, which is undoubtedly a large contingent of them given the makeup. plus, it's the sport where (at least in the NHL) players are not outright thrown out for beating the christ out of each other but instead given two minute time-outs in the box (unless it's like, really bad or obviously antagonistic) so
