pixel art

so my main hobby project for a while has been linklists. there's still tons to do on it but with it finally being launched i've been spending a bit more of my free time on other projects again and i've returned to doing pixel art :D this is of course in service of my desire to create video games, but i've found pixel art to be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience unto itself.

i haven't made anything new recently but here are a few things i've made while learning. they're rough but i'm kinda proud of them, especially since i've always considered myself someone with zero skill in visual art.

I don't normally do pixel art but here's something I did last year during an art challenge on another forum. You'd sign up for the challenge with samples of your art, then others would tell you what they notice of your style, and you'd draw something new while trying to avoid the style you normally do. Turned out alight, I think.

so if i were to participate i would have to avoid using a canvas resolution under 128 pixels? xp

If someone notices it, yeah. So for instance, if someone did exclusively pixel art, someone would probably say so, and they'd be challenged to try something else.

That kitty cat backflip is so neat! I love how tiny and animated it is.

I dabble in pixel art here and there, mostly doing art for games I work on.

This is a game my friend made that's based on a dice game. I did some character art but I'm especially proud of this title screen. It's a pixel recreation of the actual dice game's art.

As a bonus, this image doubles as a full game! If you own the Pico-8 fantasy console system on your computer, you can download this image and load it into the system to play it. It's free!

Here's a game I worked on called Gunosaur. I love that little dino guy!

And here's a couple pixel islands I did a few summers ago.
