My Immortal YES My Immortal, I actually have such a deep fondness for it. Every time I listen to someone explain its conception and/or read it (Strange Æons has a great series where she reads most of it and explains the lore behinds its release) I get really inspired. The thought of someone potentially sitting down and writing it totally nonironically reminds me that it doesn't matter how bad my writing is as long as I write at all.
I have the same exact feeling about FLC, although the writing is atrocious and shoddy, the fact that you can see exactly the way the author imagined each scene is what counts. I'm transported, for better or worse, directly into each moment. It's good! It's good art!

Okay if you like My Immortal I'd highly recommend this read:
https://slatestarcodex.com/2020/05/26/m ... -allegory/
It gives a TON of examples of parallels and even references in my immortal to historical alchemy and hermetic works. It sounds crazy until you read the article.
It's kind of mind blowing. I guess it could all be coincidence, but it sure adds mystery to it!

!!!WARNING!!!
My Immortal contains many possible trigger topics, including: self harm, suicide, sexual assault, and probably other triggers I've missed.
Here's a link to the whole thing compiled into a single PDF

The text can be... painful to get through. A popular youtuber did an abridged cold read of it that is pretty funny and lets you see what My Immortal is without trying to muddle through the horrific spelling and such. This is part one
