I haven't listened to this song in a hot minute, but I downloaded it along with the rest of my bandcamp collection the other day and OH MY GOD THIS SONG. It's literally my favorite song of all time, I just totally forgot.

I put on one of my favorite albums ever again, Tapir!'s one and only release, The Pilgrim, Their God, and the King of My Decrepit Mountain. It's such a wonderful listen, but one song always stands out to me -

This was actually my least favorite song on the entire album for a while, but after listening to it a dozen times it's become my favorite! The way the instrumentation is so tinkly, and the second half's vocals suddenly changing, yeah that's my shit. The last line has frequently made me cry for no reason in particular as well.
