web forums are great and all, and it's neat seeing this place used more, but periodically refreshing the "Unread posts" page just isn't the saaaaaame D:

I can still access ~town websites, so it looks like the server isn’t fully down, which is nice. Being able to play musi nimi is good even if I do still have to postpone my planned rework of my website. How’s everyone in ~town doing? I don’t chat much on IRC or BBJ because they’ve always felt a little daunting to get into, so maybe this is a good opportunity for me to start actually interacting with the community.

Yeah, clearly they've just temporarily revoked all ssh keys except for admins until the kernel can be updated with a version that patches the latest vuln

…as an aside, I certainly hope this doesn't keep happening every week or so x.x as if it didn't already suck every time a new CVE came out before LLMs…

(idk if this one was found via LLM or not but I'm just gonna assume they mostly are from here on forward, especially with the speed at which they keep coming out)

Big props to vilmibm et al. for making efforts to keep town going even in the face of all this kernel exploit stuff; tbh if I were in charge of such a thing I'd probably have given up by now x.x;
