lol ok my sicko was for the b'elanna picture but could also suffice as a voyager update.

last night i watched s4 episode the one with da vinci on the alien planet. it was a set up that in another trek show i think i'd hate and consider skipping but i really liked it. in fact i loved it. it was goofy but also thoughtful and tender. great ep.

i liked the tiny exchange between the doctor and seven where he was pressing her to gossip about the fight she had with b'elanna. "she called me an automata."

before that the one where b'ellana gets mad and is accused by telepaths of tHOUGHT pOISONING them. i started out finding this ep blah but ended up really liking it once the plot thickend up like meat gravy on thanksgiving in 2002 in my aunt's kitchen in the creaky old family farmhouse. the black market for Ugly Thoughts was a great conceit and reminded me of one of my favorite movies, STRANGE DAYS (WATCH IT (
IT'S REAL TIME, TIME TO GET REAL
))

AND BEFORE THAT the year of hell 2 parter. I was tickled when I saw the episode titles since this had been teased in the earlier season with kess's shockingly good time travel episode. i thought it was neat to actually play that out and it was cute to have seven be the one figuring out the temporal variance instead of kess.

having the dad from that 70s show be this dude freaking out for 200 years over a math puzzle for his temporally nullified wife was just perfect. such a more interesting villain than i thought he would be from the jump.

before THAT, the Scientific Method ep reminded me of mutliple tng episodes. that's ok because i like them and there was a lot of seven. and janeway slapping the club lock on voyager's steering wheel and gorilla gluing a brick to the pedal pointing at a binary star??? chef kiss. chef french kiss.

anyway season 4 rules and i'm so glad i got here.

i absolutely love re-experiencing Voyager through your eyes. these are some e x c e l l e n t episodes <3

i think it's in Year of Hell that they're eating some trash food and when asked how it tastes Seven goes "It is offensive. Fortunately, taste is irrelevant." and i stg i've been quoting that for like 20 years of my life lmao. i love this episode so much though, i remember feeling so weird and melancholic at the ending when Annorax is in his cozy solar and goes off to be with his family. ugh. such a good episode. ALSO JANEWAY "TIME'S. UP."

i love the thought police episode too, especially the black market for ugly thoughts and how Tuvok's *~*~* DARKER THOUGHTS *~*~* include a scary barking dog. also as a teenager i thought the guy who was buying the dark thoughts was so sexy and felt very turned on by his euphoric response to Tuvok's dark thoughts

and of course Scientific Method so good too. fun fact before my partner and i started watching TNG together i had only shown him a small handful of Trek, and Scientific Method is one of the episodes. his main response was "Janeway is cool as fuck", which is real and true.

season 4 is really so good and i'm glad you're enjoying it <3

HE WAS WEIRDLY HOT WASN'T HE?!
"It is offensive. Fortunately, taste is irrelevant."
omg, and in the episode i'm watching today she says "these nutrient supplements are unacceptable" which was an instant classic for me. i love seven of nine so much. the flat affect, the line about having emotions but not knowing how to express them, and the way her reminiscing about the borg reminds me of a life spent online.

this episode continues to amaze...neelix literally dying, being brought back after a day, and plunging into depression because he did not experience an afterlife????? such a good premise. this episode is like a dish rag soaked in nectar and i'm wringing it all into my filthy mouth

i have continued enjoying my romp through voyager but season 4 episode 17 made me feel weird and bad
