joking aside, i'm pretty happy with the trades we made before the deadline. pawning off garland before his 6y extension kicked in was a must, and we've got a decent spread of picks for the future while we're in rebuild hell (i wish we got rid of evander kane too, but he does become an UFA at the end of the season)

i gotta root for the canucks, they've gotten a raw deal the past bit.
habs sat pretty still during the trade deadline but i assume that's because by and large our team is full of young talent with a lot of potential, we've just got to let that talent mature (and figure out wtf is going on with dobeš and monty ;-;)
i think we're in a good spot though - just not our year this year. hopefully next season the blue line will tighten up a bit, our goalies will be less shaken and we can finally put our offensive talent to good use.
also at this point kinda just rooting for any canadian team to take the cup because it's gotta happen. our best chance right now tho seems to be praying the avs become the nordiques again
